New Student Programs | First-Year Student Emails

JUNE 23, 2021

Hi {{Preferred}}!

Can you believe that we are right around the two-month mark until your arrival on campus in Atlanta? Although YOU are the future of Emory, we thought you may be curious about the past 185 years since Emory’s founding in 1836. There are some key people you should recognize and some unique traditions you should know! Check out a brief introduction to our history and traditions here.

One of our favorite traditions is the Emory Farmers Market. This weekly gathering gives students an opportunity to engage with local farms and businesses, while also supporting economic, social, and environmental sustainability. We’re excited for you to experience this tradition once you arrive on campus! In the meantime, you can explore Emory’s Office of Sustainability Initiatives resources for students, including a recycling and composting guide, a sustainability map, and opportunities for engagement.
